Aventurine is the name given to a variety of quartz that has a spangled appearance due to sparkling internal reflections from minute inclusions of other minerals. Green Aventurine (the most popular), is coloured by microscopic Fuchsite particles.  Its name is derived from the Italian a ventura, a type of glass discovered in the year 1700.

Aventurine is a stone of optimism and zest for life.  It helps one move forward with confidence into new situations, such as changes in employment, residence, school, and relationships.  Aventurine is considered to be a ‘lucky stone’: a very positive stone of prosperity.  Psychologically, Aventurine reinforces leadership qualities and decisiveness.  It promotes compassion and empathy and encourages perseverance.

Aventurine stabilizes one’s state of mind, stimulates perception and enhances creativity.  This stone brings together the intellectual and emotional bodies.  Aventurine calms anger and irritation.  Is stimulates emotional recovery and enables living within one’s own heart.

Physically, Aventurine promotes a feeling of well-being.  It is believed to have an anti-inflammatory effect and help ease skin eruptions and allergies, relieves migraine headaches, and soothes the eyes. This stone is believed to relieve stammers and severe neuroses, bringing understanding of what lies behind the conditions.
